Snacks Tuner doesn’t collect anything.
Not your audio, not your settings, not who you are. This covers the tuner at tuner.snacks.design and the Snacks Tuner apps for iPhone and Android.

- What the microphone hears is analysed on your device and never recorded or sent anywhere.
- Your settings are saved on your device and never sent to us.
The microphone
The tuner needs your microphone to hear your instrument. It asks the first time you press start, and it only listens while the tuner is running. The sound is analysed right there on your device, a fraction of a second at a time, to work out the pitch, and then it’s gone. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and nobody, us included, ever hears it.
Your settings
Your instrument, tuning, reference pitch and the rest of your preferences are saved on your device so they’re still there next time: in your browser’s local storage on the web, and in the app’s own storage on your phone. They’re never sent to us or anyone else. If your phone backs up app data to iCloud or Google, your settings go along with that backup, the same as any app’s. Clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes them.
Nothing else
There’s no sign-in, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no cookies or trackers, from us or anyone else. The phone apps don’t talk to a server at all. We can’t sell or share data about you because we never have any.
The website
When you open tuner.snacks.design, your browser fetches the page from our host, Vercel, the same way it would for any website. Vercel may keep standard server logs, like IP address and browser type, for a short time to keep things secure and running. We don’t use them to identify or follow anyone. Once the page has loaded, the tuner works offline.
The app stores
Apple and Google handle downloads and updates from the App Store and Google Play under their own privacy policies. If you’ve chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your phone’s settings, they may pass us anonymous crash reports, which we only use to fix bugs.
Kids
Snacks Tuner is fine for players of any age. It collects nothing from anyone, so it collects nothing from children either.
Changes
If any of this ever changes, this page changes first, and the date below moves with it.
